I ran the green version with the single putter pouch for a while now. Picked this model up recently as it was half price from Amazon warehouse and I wanted the extra outter pouch for a larger chalk box in addition to what I normally carry on that side.For most tasks it's still difficult to beat the occidental layout. The two pencil holders are in a good spot so the pencils don't get broken in half like they can when on the outer fronts of some other bags.The front leather loops hold most knives and where I keep my awl.I throw an oxy tool shield clipped on to one of the rear leather tool slots to carry a chisel and the last spot takes an 11-1 screw driver.Than any task specific tools like side cutting pliers or a wrench or whatever can float in the main area. Some might want more tool organization but for most building/framing it's not really needed.The lack of tape holster is a plus imho. It doesn't block you from seeing or getting at your hand tools.Not to mention I like my tape on my non dominant side, though that's mostly out of habit.
